 Why is she still being hounded?
Earlier this month, English Heritage turned down a suggestion to put a Blue Plaque on the former London home of Wallis Simpson. They say that insufficient time has lapsed since her death to allow a settled view to be taken of her historical reputation. The decision has led to debate in the press and journalist Tanya Gold recently commented that for over 70 years Wallis Simpson has been bullied by the sneering British establishment – and they aren’t finished yet.
