 Meols Necklace
This year the city of Liverpool is celebrating its position as European Capital of Culture. Woman’s Hour is marking the occasion with a series of features discovering some the treasures in the city’s Museums and Galleries which have a particular significance for women. Today’s treasure is a medieval pewter necklace found in the sand in Meols on the Wirral. It is on display as part of the Magical History Tour – a special display about the history of Liverpool at the Maritime Museum at the Albert Dock. Louise Adamson met Liz Stewart, who’s Curator of Archaeology and the Historic Environment to find out more.
The Magical History tour is at the Maritime Museum in Liverpool until Sept 2009 National Museums Liverpool National Museums Liverpool ArchaeologyDisclaimer
