Investigating the legal and illegal trade in Nevada
In the city of Las Vegas it’s estimated there are up to 10,000 prostitutes - all working illegally. But in the rest of the state of Nevada prostitution is mainly legal – in fact, it’s the only state in the US where it is. As concern grows over the illegal sex trade in Las Vegas, there’s a new debate in the US over prostitution itself - prompted by a rapid rise in sex trafficking and by the resignation of the New York Governor, Eliot Spitzer, the hero of the anti-prostitution lobby exposed for sleeping with prostitutes. Rosie Goldsmith went to Nevada and Las Vegas to investigate.
