Her memoir of depression

Sally Brampton says she is an optimist. She loves her family, her garden and her friends. She is also an extremely talented journalist and a novelist, and the founding editor of British Elle. But she is also a depressive, and in the past has become so ill that she has twice attempted suicide. Her memoir of depression, Shoot the Damn Dog, has just been published, and she joins Jenni to talk about the isolation, stigma and ignorance that still surround one of the most common of illnesses.

Shoot the Damn Dog is published by Bloomsbury,  ISBN: 978-0747572411
