Women’s Institute Campaign, Love Food Champions 29th January 2008
How to reduce our food waste

According to WRAP ( Waste and Resources Programme) we throw away one bag of food for every three we buy - wasting about £400 per family per year. And what's worse, this waste goes into landfill and produces methane gas, a contributor to global warming. Today the Women's Institute launches its Love Food Champions  campaign, in which 'Champions' will set up groups around the country to help consumers reduce the amount of food they throw away . Jenni speaks to Fran Saltmarsh, from the Woman’s Institute to find out how this will work in practise.
