Burial jewellery from four thousand years ago
And now in the last in our series about treasures of the British Museum, we go back around four and a half thousand years to the ancient city of Ur – in what is now southern Iraq. Louise Adamson met up with Dr Alexandra Fletcher, who’s one of the Assistant Keepers in the Museum’s Middle Eastern Department, to find out about a woman who died in mysterious circumstances. She was found in a vast tomb, buried with a huge quantity of beautiful jewellery still on her head. The British MuseumDisclaimer
