Civil partnerships 21 Dec 2007
Two years on - why are women more reluctant to tie the knot?

It’s two years since civil partnerships were introduced but far more men than women are choosing to tie the knot. Are gay women reluctant to sign up to a traditionally heterosexual convention? Is it harder for a lesbian couple to go public? Jane talks to writer Val McDermid who had a big party to celebrate getting hitched to her partner of 4 years and journalist Julie Bindel who only signed the document for legal reasons and to better protect herself and her partner.
