Is the fashion industry catering for the over fifties?

Last week Marks and Spencer revealed that some branches of the WI were the secret weapon behind their successful fashion collections. A total of 800 members from Kent, Buckinghamshire and Leicester, formed a unique focus group to help the company choose items that would appeal to older women.

So does this mean the fashion industry is finally catering to the purchasing power of the over fifties? And, if so, are they really offering women what they want? Emma Soames, editor of Saga magazine and fashion guru Gok Wan from Channel 4’s ‘How to Look Good Naked’, debate the issues with Jane Little and give their fashion tips for the over fifties.

'How to Look Good Naked' by Gok Wan is published by Harper Collins, ISBN:9780007250356.
