The Zimmers 1st June 2007
The Zimmers
The oldest rock band in the world, with a combined age of over 3,000, are set to hit the charts this Sunday with their unique take on The Who's 'My Generation', the song that embodied youth and rebellion in the 1960's. Brought together for a television documentary to highlight the boredom and neglect faced by the elderly in modern Britain, the Zimmers have now become an internet phenomenon with over 2 million people viewing their video online. For Woman's Hour, Victoria Hannaford caught up with Irene, Norma and Winifred from the band, to find out how they're coping with their new found fame.

My Generation by the Zimmers is out now on the X-Phonics label.
