50 years ago “The Gold Coast” broke free from colonialism to became “Ghana”. The country was a trend-setter for African independence movements. It was efficient and relatively wealthy, but this week Ghanaians are looking back with mixed feelings. Women, like Nana Oye Lithur (pictured), a lawyer and the country’s leading spokesperson on women’s issues, are wondering when do they get their independence?
