Health
Osteoporosis in Men 23 Nov 2006
Robert Rees
Raising awareness about ‘the women’s disease’.
There are certain diseases associated with one gender or the other and osteoporosis is one of them. The bone wasting disorder usually affects older women, but there’s growing concern about the incidents of men with the condition – and the difficulty they have in getting diagnosed properly. There’s also a campaign underway to educate young men in much the same way as young women – emphasising the need for a good diet early on to avoid the trauma of bone disease in later life.  Jenni is joined in the studio by
Robert Rees who has the condition and Sarah Leyland from the Osteoporosis Society.
