Iranians living in the UK 29 September 2006
An estimated 75,000 Iranians emigrated to Britain after the 1979 revolution. There was a further wave of migration in the 1980s during the Iran/Iraq war. As a result there are large communities of Iranians in Britain, the majority based in London.

In our final report for Radio 4's Uncovering Iran season, reporter Sarah Parker went to the home of one family in East London. She met the mother, son Cheyanne and daughter Shima, both students in their 20s, and their teenage sister Sheena. It was a chance to find out more about how Iranian culture and family life is recreated in Britain - as well as to sample some Iranian home cooking...
