Male mentors, how important are they for boys? 14 Sept 2006
Mentors: Boys 2 Men is a mentoring scheme set-up by Trish Bunning, whose eldest son Alex was excluded from school many times, during his teenage years. After realising that, as a mother, she was unable to help her son through this difficult period, she discovered that what her teenage son needed most was an adult male role model to help him through his transition from teenager to man. The scheme offers teenage boys a male mentor, who may or may not be the boy's father to help them through this critical point in their life. Through the medium of challenging and exciting activities, it aims to create a much needed bond between the two male generations.

Trish Bunning and Gary Wilson, Freelance Consultant and Author (Former School Improvement Officer for Kirklees LEA) join Jenni in the studio.
