Work
Shea Butter 24 July 2006
Shea Butter
It's made from the nut of the shea tree and if the women in Ghana are anything to go by it holds the elixir of youth. Shea Butter moisturiser is a natural skin product, but its manufacture is long and arduous.

A group of women wanting to make shea butter in Tamale in Northern Ghana asked for help from the Women's Development Agency and Comic Relief. They were each given £26. They pooled their resources and formed a co-operative. Now they're producing enough of the butter to pay back their loan and expand. Katy Hickman went along to find out how shea butter is made.
