It’s been nearly 30 years since Shusha Guppy last visited her native Iran. Her father was an eminent philosopher and she’s returned to examine the influence of eastern philosophy on western thought, as part of a program for the BBC.
The journey was an emotional one – the changes in Iran have been immense and in many ways it was a country she didn’t recognise, but in other ways it was much the same. She’ll be joining me to tell me about her trip.
The School of Illumination is on BBC Radio 3, March 19 at 9pm. |
