Are they the key to reforming large corporations?
The business writer Tom Lloyd's new book urges large companies to get rid of their Chief Executive Officers. He warns that their enormous pay packets are contributing to growing inequality and bringing the whole business community into disrepute. Part of the answer, he argues, is to appoint women to senior positions. But he warns that when women are isolated on male dominated boards they will adopt the behaviour and attitudes of their male colleagues. So how many women on the board of directors can make a difference?
