Working with your spouse 4 November 2009
Alistair and Eve Burt
What impact does it have on a relationship?

Today Sir Christopher Kelly, Commissioner for Party Standards, delivers his recommendations on MPs' expenses and employing family members. But what impact does working together have on a domestic relationship? Does a marriage within a marriage double the stress or double the bond? Jenni speaks to Alistair Burt, MP for North East Bedfordshire and deputy chairman of the Conservative Party, and his wife Eve who has worked for him for 27 years. She also talks to Richard and Sheila Johnston, a couple who have run a country house hotel in Devon together for 15 years.
