 New exhibition at Imperial War Museum North ‘In the Spotlight’
A Second World War pistol - stolen from a Nazi guard by a remarkable female agent has just gone on display at Imperial War Museum North. Parachuted into France during the Second World War, Odette Hallowes ran resistance operations against the Nazis until she was betrayed, tortured and then sent to the Ravensbruck concentration camp. So, why did her captors think that she was related to Winston Churchill and how did she manage to keep her secrets despite having her toe nails painfully removed? Jenni is joined by historian Dr Juliette Pattinson, from the University of Strathclyde.
