Getting married for the first time later in life 10 August 2009
Novelist Gillian Greenwood on meeting her fiancé in her 50s.

Still single in her 50s, Gillian Greenwood thought her romantic life was over, but then an online encounter changed everything. At a dinner organised by a singles site she met a widower. They are now engaged and planning a winter wedding. In a case of life imitating art, at the time they met Gillian was writing a novel about a single woman in her 50s and a widower. Gillian and her fiancé, Tony Wells, join Shelia to discuss their meeting, their plans for a church wedding and the notion of getting married for the first time late in life.

The Ghost Lover, by Gillian Greenwood, is published by John Murray, ISBN: 978-0-7195-6872-5
