What is a "just war" for feminists?
When Britain and America invaded Afghanistan in 2001 one of the justifications for the war was to end the oppressive regime of the Taleban. Life for Afghan women in particular was harsh under the severe restrictions imposed upon them. This weekend the Foreign Affairs Select Committee concluded that the military mission had failed to deliver on its original promises. 'Mission creep' had resulted in too many extra duties for troops including fighting the drugs trade. The author Carol Gould and the Director of the Institute of Ideas Claire Fox join Jenni to discuss whether any war can be seen as just from a feminist point of view.
