Debbie Purdy 07 August 2009
Debbie Purdy's Law Lords victory

Debbie Purdy was a 31 year old journalist when she was sent to interview a renowned Cuban violinist Omar Puente. They could barely speak each other’s language, but within a fortnight they were dating. Barely a month later Debbie was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Fifteen years on, they are married and at the centre of what’s been described as an historic legal ruling. Debbie wanted to know whether Omar, would be prosecuted if he helped her end her life in Switzerland. Jenni talks to them both about the campaign and about their lives together.
