Beach Huts 21st July 2009
Sarah Chandler's beach hut
Seaside nostalgia

Brightly coloured beach huts are an essential part of the British seaside. In some locations beach huts are now selling for more money than houses. Kathryn Ferry is an expert on British beach hut history and has written two books on the classic British eccentricity. Sarah Chandler's family have owned beach huts in Brightlingsea in Essex since the 1920s. They both join Jane to discuss their passion for beach huts.

Sheds on the Seashore: A Tour through Beach Hut History By Kathryn Ferry is published by Indepenpress Publishing Ltd on 25 July 2009 ISBN: 978-1906710972
