Are some girls born to be anorexic?
Thousands of girls may be predisposed to develop anorexia nervosa because of the way their brains developed in the womb, according to new research. The “imperfect wiring” of the brain is similar to that seen in people with dyslexia, depression or hyperactivity. Dr Ian Frampton, consultant in paediatric psychology at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital led the study. He joins Jane to discuss how the findings may lead to drugs being developed to treat the eating disorder in the future.Eating Disorders Association
