Increased shared care for parents of disabled children
The most requested support for parents of disabled children is short break services. It gives the parents a few hours' rest, or possibly an overnight break - important respite from their caring responsibilities. Studies show that the children also benefit: four in ten children with autism have no friends at all and shared care means that they get to socialise with others. The government has pledged to increase these services, but what more needs to be done? Jenni is joined by Candy Smith from the Shared Care Network.Shared care networkDisclaimer
