Children’s Friendships 10 Mar 2009
Understanding the way our children make their friends

Making friends is a key part of going to school but the friendships children make can be a source of both pleasure and distress to them. As children progress through primary school, should they be helped to make ‘good’ friends and at what point should an adult step in to sort things out? What do children look for in their friends, and is there such a thing as a ‘bad’ friendship? Author and parenting expert, Elizabeth Hartley Brewer, and Siobhan Freegard, founder of the parenting website, Netmums talk to Jane about how we can make sense of children’s friendships.

Making Sense of your Child’s Friendships by Elizabeth Hartley-Brewer is published by Piccadilly Press ISBN 978-1-84812-002-0
