Are political blogs run by women different to those run by men?
Hazel Blears yesterday criticised the cynicism of political blogs in the UK, claiming most bloggers see their job as being entirely negative, simply “unearthing scandals, conspiracies and perceived hypocrisy”. But is this true in every case? Media historian Professor Jean Seaton argues that whereas political blogs run by men tend to be gossipy, aggressive and partisan, those run by women are more often issue-led and constructive, with wider cross-party appeal.
