Her life on the Galapagos Islands
The Galapagos Islands are made up of white sandy beaches, rocky coastline, volcanic craters and tropical rainforests. Charles Darwin was intrigued by the unique wildlife he saw when visiting the Islands in 1835, and to this day they continue to inspire and excite scientists and visitors alike. But what is life really like on the Islands? Johanna Angermeyer is the daughter of one of the first settlers on Galapagos. She joins Jane to discuss a childhood spent on the Islands, the impact of tourism, and the work she’s doing to preserve her childhood idyll.
