Family
Kraamzorg 17 June 2008
Is intensive early intervention the best way to help young families?

In the Netherlands every mother with a new born baby gets eight days help from the kraamzorg scheme  where a maternity nurse comes to help at the family home. It’s a system that the Conservative Party is keen to see work here – so, how could the system be adopted in the UK, and is it the best way to tackle the inequalities that develop in early childhood? Jenni talks to Maria Miller, Conservative spokesperson on the family and Honor Rhodes, from the National Family and Parenting Institute.
