The changing face of ‘bringing up baby’
‘The Making of Modern Motherhood’ looks at the experiences of new mothers aged between 15 and 48 years old. As the research approaches its half way stage, one of its authors, Professor Rachel Thomson of the Open University, joins Jenni to talk about the findings so far. They are joined by Hilary Land, Emeritus Professor at the Centre for Family Policy and Child Welfare at the University of Bristol, to discuss how the role of ‘mother’ has changed over the last generation.
