The signs of dementia and the importance of early diagnosis.
There are currently 700,000 people with dementia in the UK and two thirds of these are women. Dr Daphne Wallace is a retired consultant psychiatrist, who diagnosed many dementia cases, which was why, when she couldn’t remember her favourite recipes, she was so sure she was also suffering from the disease. Jane Garvey will be finding out from Daphne whether her medical background made it easier or more difficult when the dementia diagnosis was confirmed. Clive Evers, from the Alzheimers Society, will also be joining them to discuss the signs of dementia and the importance of early diagnosis.Age Concern Help the Aged Alzheimer’s Society Admiral NursesDisclaimer
