It’s claimed electronic gadgets are stopping teenagers getting the sleep they need.
TVs, games consoles and mp3 players - researchers say gadgets in our teenagers' bedrooms are having a detrimental effect on the length and quality of their sleep. In a poll of a thousand teenagers, almost a quarter admitted to regularly dozing off with the TV or music on; a third had fewer than seven hours sleep a night; nearly all had a phone, music system or TV in their room. So how damaging is it? And just how easy is it to control? Ritula talks to Dr Chris Idzkiowski from the Edinburgh Sleep Centre and education consultant and author Gill Hines.
