Women in Tune 24 Aug 2007
Women In Tune Festival
On the 10th anniversary of Women in Tune, is a single-sex festival the best way to encourage women musicians?

Forget Glastonbury, Leeds and Reading - for the last ten years hundreds of women have made the trip to rural Wales for the female-only music festival Women In Tune. Crowds are entertained by all-women bands and take part in workshops run by women artists, all of it facilitated by women sound engineers and producers.

But is a single sex environment the best way to encourage women in what many see as a male dominated music industry? Ritula is joined by the founder of Women in Tune Heather Summers and popular musicologist Sheila Whiteley.

Women In Tune, 22nd-28th August 2007, Llanfair Clydogau, nr Lampeter, Wales.
