How do women feel about their sexuality after cancer?
A new study undertaken in America shows that the possible sexual problems encountered by women after gynaecological cancer can have a long-term impact. The study addressed the issue of whether women are spoken to about this early enough in the treatment process - and how they might feel about themselves as sexual beings further down the line. So what kind of information and advice would be helpful, and who should be providing it? Jane hears the personal experience of one woman who has had cervical cancer, and discusses the issue with Derryn Borley of the charity Cancer Backup, and Dr Mary McCormack, a clinical oncologist at University College Hospital.
