We have heard about the glass ceiling, now comes news of the glass cliff. New research has just been published which shows that women are often put in leadership positions associated with a greater risk of failure and criticism. It seems that more often than not, it is when companies are on the slide that they are prepared to appoint a woman to the top job. So what can women do to turn these poisoned chalices into golden opportunities?
