Women and Divorce Settlements 18th April 2007
England is regarded as one of the most generous places for women to divorce. But with the Court of Appeal due to give judgement any day on an appeal against Britain's biggest divorce award of £48million, Woman's Hour asks whether the pendulum has swung too far in favour of wives in divorce cases, or does the law still not take into account the financial sacrifices women make when they give up work?

Jenni talks to family lawyer Helen Pidgeon, and Cate Briddick, legal officer for advice organisation Rights of Women.
