Lucia Matibenga - the hardships facing women in Zimbabwe today 12 Mar 2007
Zimbabwean women now have the lowest life expectancy in the world – an average of just 34 years. Martha will be talking to the Vice President of the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions, Lucia Matibenga, about her own experiences of living under the Mugabe regime and at the hardships facing women in Zimbabwe today, including the lack of access to basic sanitary protection, which, with inflation at over 1000%, is way beyond the financial reach of most women in the country.
