Last week children’s organisation ECPAT launched a report on child-trafficking in the UK. “Missing Out” looked at cases in a range of local authorities across England. It highlighted 80 children known or suspected of being trafficked into the UK.
More shocking is that 48 of these have since gone missing from social services care. This begs the question - how many more children are also disappearing from the system? How are these children going missing, why is this happening and what can be done to better protect trafficked children?
Martha talks to Christine Beddoe, chair of ECPAT, and Home Office Under Secretary of State, Vernon Coaker.ECPAT websiteDisclaimer
