Drug addiction & families 4 Jan  2006
Drug abuse
When someone is addicted to drugs the effects can be devastating for the whole family.
Caroline Kenyon went to meet a grandmother who lost a son through an overdose and who is caring for the two children of a drug addicted daughter. Her experience is typical, according to Dr Marina Barnard, the author of a new book on the experience of families of drug misusers.
Dr Marina Barnard will be talking to Jenni Murray along with Vivienne Evans, chief exec  of Adfam, down the line from either London or Leicester about the effect drug abuse has on the whole family.

Drug Addiction and Families, By Dr Marina Barnard. published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers, £19.99
