Forgiving an infidelity 28 Nov 2006
As listeners to The Archers will know David has been having a lot of trouble coming to terms with his wife's infidelity with the Brookfield cowman. But how forgiving are we in real life when our partner errs?

Research suggests that the vast majority of us take a harsh view of adultery, but as many as sixty per cent of us own up to having an extra-marital affair. So have our attitudes to fidelity and forgiveness changed? And why is it that we are increasingly tempted to confess what we’ve done when it does happen?

Martha talks to Phillip Hodson, fellow of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and to Bel Mooney, author and journalist who writes an advice column for The Times.
