Children Leaving Care |
9 October 2006 |
In 2000 the Children Leaving Care Act was passed with the intention of improving the financial and practical support provided for young people leaving care. Today, a Green Paper for 'looked-after children' is published. So, are we still failing this vulnerable group and what changes need to be made to address this?
Woman’s Hour hears from a young care leaver and a mother-of-two, struggling to cope in emergency accommodation, and Martha is joined in the studio by Janet Rich, the Director of National Care Leavers Week, and Beverley Hughes, Minister for Children and Families to discuss the issues.
