The Emotional Bonds of Childcare 08 Sep 2006
As children start schools and nurseries this week, many will be leaving behind childminders and nannies who have cared for them since they were babies. So how do these carers cope with the sudden loss of these children, who've been part of their lives for years? And why is the bond between child and paid carer often unacknowledged, or perhaps feared by parents who don't want to recognise that their child might be calling someone else 'mummy'?

Ritula Shah will be looking at the how best to handle this sometimes difficult transition. She's joined by clinical psychologist, Linda Blair and Lynn Taylor, National Development Manager, National Childminer's Association.
