Alliums 06 July 2006
Apparently if there is one plant that is a must have in a fashionable garden it's Alliums. Otherwise known as ornamental onions they've been described as the shining stars of the garden and are known for their great versatility. With their geometric drum stick purple heads they look dramatically exotic but can fit into most schemes and bloom throughout the summer months.

Felicity Finch went to meet Gardening writer and Television Presenter Sarah Raven, who has been a long-time fan of Alliums, in her garden at Perchhill Farm in East Sussex .
