All women investment clubs 18 Apr 2006
Dinner clubs, film clubs, book clubs - now increasing numbers of us are clubbing together to delve into the rollercoaster world of stocks and shares. Investment clubs are traditionally the preserve of the retiree and are a great way for people with no previous financial nouse to get some. A third of the 12,000 clubs across the UK consist only of women. Woman's Hour meets the group who go by the name the 'Glamorous Old Women' to find out the rules of the game - and why they're adamant about keeping their men out.

Jenni is joined in the studio by Geraldine Puxtey, co-founder and chair of the Glamorous/Grumpy Old Women Investment Club, Liz Thomas, co-founder and treasurer of the Glamorous/Grumpy Old Women Investment Club and Emily Trant, head of investment clubs at the online financial information provider, Digital Look.
