Children and bereavement 26 Feb 2009
How the death of a child affects both parents and siblings

Following news of Ivan Cameron’s death yesterday aged six, we look at the effect the passing of a child has on families with several young children. How should parents explain the loss of a sibling to very young children, and what are the challenges of dealing with their grief whilst coping with overwhelming grief of one’s own? And how does the loss of a sibling in early life affect one later on? Jenni is joined by Eleanor Wroath whose daughter Miranda died aged 15 months, and who has a son aged four and a half;; and Simon Bishop whose older brother died when Simon was seven. Jenni also talks to Jill Adams, from the Child Bereavement Charity.
