 Irish singer tipped for stardom
Dublin-raised singer-songwriter Imelda May’s musical style has moved on a lot since her recording debut - singing the jingle for a fish fingers commercial. Her first album ‘Love Tattoo’ mixes rockabilly and blues to create a sound which has led to a slot on ‘Later…with Jools Holland’ and a performance at the Royal Albert Hall. She’s been tipped as the next big thing for 2009, and joins Jane to discuss singing in burlesque clubs and her distinctive 1950s style. She also performs a track from her new album.Imelda MayDisclaimer
