Leah Chishugi
Rwandan genocide survivor who is now working with rape victims in Eastern Congo

Nurse Leah Chishugi survived the genocide in Rwanda in 1994 and made her way to London and a new life. This summer, after the death of her mother, she decided to return to the eastern part of Congo that borders Rwanda, driven by a determination to do something about the plight of women in a country where rape has become a weapon of war.  she talks to Jane about women in the Congo and the charity she has set up, called “Everything is a Benefit”.
