How to deal with the grump in the family
One of the things you realise over a pressured period like the Christmas holidays is that every family has one person who can sulk for England. You’re rarely sure what it was you did to offend, but the face closes down and no amount of ‘are you oks’ or ‘what’s the matters’ will elicit so much as a sound. And some of them can go on like that for weeks. So why do some people sulk and is there any way to shake them out of it? Martin Kelner is a broadcaster and journalist. Virginia Ironside is agony aunt for the Dilemmas column in The Independent. RelateDisclaimer
