The longest serving reporter on one newspaper
Margaret Watson has been on The Dewsbury Reporter for fifty years and is still working. A feisty Yorkshire woman, she is a passionate about her home town and is working tirelessly to reclaim the good name of Dewsbury following the negative publicity generated by one of its other citizens - Karen Matthews. Jenni talks to Margaret about a woman’s lot in regional newspapers and about the early days of her career – when, at the age of 17, she had to tough it out interviewing murderers and mothers who’d lost children. The Dewsbury ReporterDisclaimer
