Male Rape 07 Nov 2008
Could more be done to help the male victims of sexual violence?

Last year over a thousand men went to the police after being raped. It’s believed than many more don’t report their attack because of shame and the fear they won’t be believed. So what are the specific issues facing men who have been assaulted in this way? Do men need different kinds of support to that provided for women? A special conference is being held in Cumbria looking at the issue of rape generally and includes testimony from a 16 year boy who was himself the victim of an attack.
