Child Maintenance Enforcement Commission 27 October 2008
New body to deal with child maintenance payments

The Child Support Agency has had a fairly troubled history since its inception fifteen years ago – with complaints revolving around delays, errors and unsatisfactory enforcement. From today a new organisation ‘The Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission’ will take over responsibility for the running of the current child maintenance system. Will it deliver a simpler and effective way of assessing, collecting and enforcing child maintenance? Sheila is joined by Janet Allbeson from One Parent Families Gingerbread and Janet Paraskeva the new chair of the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission.
